Day One

I've signed a pact with the devil and this blog is a way to make the most of it. I have two months of work in Edinburgh, with one week off (a fortnight in) to visit my fitness-mad sister. I've decided that if the BBC wants to own my arse, I'm going to make sure they get a stingy, tight, tiny version of it. So here is the regime:

Mon, Wed, Fri
0645 - 0730 RUN
0730 - 0830 Stretch, breakfast, shower
0830 - 0900 Walk to train station
0900 - 1030 Commute, editing enroute with laptop
1100 - 1900 BBC Shift
1900 - 2100 Commute home
2100 - 2230 Chill out
2230 SLEEP

Tues, Thurs
0700 - 0800 Admin and Tax stuff
0800 - 0830 Breakfast, shower
0830 - 0900 Walk to train station
0900 - 1030 Commute
1100 - 1900 BBC Shift
1900 - 2100 Commute home
2100 - 2230 Chill out
2230 SLEEP

Day off

Long Run

The hardest thing will be going to bed on time. I need all of you to keep an eye on this blog and make sure I'm doing what I've set out, otherwise I'll end up at the pub and it will all go horribly wrong. And then I'll blame you. (:

Today I did a gentle half hour through the woods. I was still asleep when I got home, so much so I forgot to flick the stopwatch and it's still rolling, abandoned in my shoe...

  3. Nice looking routine :-) When I started running again, I found a spider had taken up residence in my shoe. Ooops!

I'm just now home from an awesome run, finally deviated from my usual circuit round the streets to incorporate a local park. The park is mostly flat, mown short, and has a couple of different playing fields so I can do big figure 8s. Yay!

Still woefully underprepared for the Akl half this weekend, but I'm not quaking in my trainers about it :-)

  5. I'm just the opposite. Contract ending, 2-3 months off maybe, just PERFECT for half-Ironman training... 15 km run yesterday, 15 km run tomorrow, half marathon on Sunday, THEN the real training a la Clement begins! Best of luck with it.

Light thermal gloves are so worth the money at 6.30 am. And I am now a convert to lycra running shorts. Bye-bye chafing. I'll keep you posted on any other helpful hints I pick up. Looking forward to February.
